101 Reasons to Stop Writing

The Fundamentals of Our Publishing are Wrong

This Month's Demotivator:

Demotivation Greeting Cards Now Available

The humble greeting card — the delivery medium of choice for perfunctory sentiment and heartfelt, demographically predictable emotions.

For too long, we’ve struggled to distill the conflicting emotions we feel about the writerly ambitions of talentless loved ones. Now, with 101 Reasons’ range of Demotivation Greeting Cards, you can let that special someone know exactly how you feel about their work.

Our most popular Demotivators (and a few others) are now available in greeting card form, with the text printed inside the card to maximise the impact of the moment when the recipient discovers the message isn’t the usual clichéd bon mot. The design leaves plenty of room for you to add a personal touch of soul-destroying sarcasm, if you so choose.

You can purchase the cards singly, or in packs of 10 or 20 if you happen to know a lot of hopeless hacks. Several designs would also be perfect for publishing professionals, for that five minutes a year just before Christmas when you’re allowed to be honest about your feelings towards writers.

Each card design is available on glossy or recycled matte card, if you care about the environment or just like things to be shiny.

Check out the Demotivation Greeting Cards!

By the way, the Stop Writing 2008 Calendar is selling quite nicely, thanks for asking. The first people to place their orders should already be enjoying the five brand new Demotivators that you’ve only seen thumbnails of.

One Measly Comment

  1. I’m going to have to get a few of these for my sister. Of course, to paraphrase Harlan Ellison, I’m going to have to convert to Judaism just so I can sit shiva for her.

I really don't want to encourage young writers. Keep them down and out and silent is my motto.
