While this is a fantastic idea, the problem with your article is your numbers. The children’s division of my publish alone could come up with 15,000 bonfire-worthy manuscripts. If the entire publishing establishment participated, the number would be upwards of a million.
And the terrible manuscripts do not outnumber the fantastic ones by a ratio of 10 to 1. They outnumber them by a ratio of 5,000 to 1. Seriously. I’ve done the math.
