The discussion on Jay Lake’s blog about quitting writing has spread to other LiveJournal blogs.

  2. Oh yeah, baby! See: when the pros need advice, who do they come to? A guy who almost wrote a novel once and gave up and now wants everyone else to do the same! :) )

You’re one link away from your own talk show, Seanie!

  3. Lee, you sarcastic bastard!

    A Disclaimer, just for you.

You’re wrong on a few counts. I finished a novel once, and have started a few others. In terms of novel output, we’re pretty much on par there. I haven’t given up, but I have stopped.

If any professional writers are coming here for advice, they should stop writing, now.

And there’s definitely at least a half-dozen living writers whom I hope continue to write and publish. I don’t know if any of them read this blog, though.

  4. Patrick Tilley, Guy N Smith, Matthew Reilly, and which other three? :)

You can at least take most of the credit. I also stumbled upon an entry in this vein by Nick Mamatas, but then again, you’ve got the whole blog here and he only had the one entry. :)
