You’re wrong on a few counts. I finished a novel once, and have started a few others. In terms of novel output, we’re pretty much on par there. I haven’t given up, but I have stopped.
If any professional writers are coming here for advice, they should stop writing, now.
And there’s definitely at least a half-dozen living writers whom I hope continue to write and publish. I don’t know if any of them read this blog, though.
You can at least take most of the credit. I also stumbled upon an entry in this vein by Nick Mamatas, but then again, you’ve got the whole blog here and he only had the one entry.
